What happens
Sally Carter, expecting a baby, has stayed in Midland with her parents while her husband Jim has gone alone to Capital City to take a new job. Her father Dan Hayes has persuaded her to remain at home. When Sally hears gossip that Jim was seen with a brunette at a hotel, and receives only one letter from him in a week, she begins to doubt the arrangement. Her mother Martha and sister Peggy are drawn into the family argument over whether Sally should stay or go. The story is part of The Mary Lee Taylor Program, a sponsored radio drama series, and this episode aired on October 30, 1948.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
