What happens
In the underwater city of Euchlytia, the Gregory party, including Jerry Hall and Captain Bradford, has lost hope of rescue after the Euchlytians sail the rescue fleet away with an artificial volcanic eruption. Jerry and Captain Bradford are taken to the rocket ship laboratories, where they hope to study the construction of a thousand-mile-an-hour rocket plane. Captain Bradford considers how Jerry might smuggle a homing pigeon aboard to send word to Los Angeles, while the two men learn of a planned silent attack on American cities. Commander Keyops and others explain the craft's design, and the men are taken on a test flight in a rocket ship.
