What happens
Captain Bradford, Jerry Hall, Joan Gregory, John Gregory and Mrs. Gregory return to the Magic Island and find it deserted. An elevator carries them deep below the South Pacific into a polished steel room. They discover that their belongings from Los Angeles, including Mrs. Gregory's silverware and table, have been brought down to the underground quarters, and each is given a private room opening onto a central chamber. At dinner, meals appear on demand and must be finished within a set time. The group must decide how to live under the control of the Euclideans, who tell them they will stay for the rest of their lives.
