What happens
On the Gregory boat off the coast of Lower California, Captain Bradford and Jerry keep watch over the engineer Peterson while a Mexican hurricane closes in. Mrs. Gregory and Joan are kept in their cabin, and Jerry worries that Peterson, suspected of being the Euclidean electrical wizard Thales in disguise, may interfere with the boat's powerful engines. The storm strikes, and the crew scrambles to keep the vessel steady, with Joan and Jerry working the radio to reach the girl commander of the Euclidean submarine that has been following them. The storm is severe, and the boat's engines suddenly fail. This is the Magic Island series.
