What happens
The Gregory party is nearly home after escaping the Euclideans, sailing into harbor at night with Captain Bradford and Johnson. A Euclidean plane circles overhead and sprays the small boat with a liquid, leaving its occupants unable to move. Johnson, Mrs. Gregory, Joan and Jerry must wait as the magnetic effect slowly fades. Joan explains that the bombs dropped nearby will keep releasing fresh magnetism into the water, so the party cannot simply drift free.
