What happens
Mrs. Patricia Gregory, whose little daughter Joan was believed lost in a yacht wreck fourteen years earlier, sails the South Seas aboard the yacht Joan Gregory in search of a reported island. With Captain Bradford in charge of the cruise, young radio operator Jerry Hall joins the search, and the crew works from an old sailor's chart. Gregory and Jerry discuss the chart, and Jerry questions Mrs. Gregory about her household and her hopes for Joan. The yacht then meets a strange, motionless bank of fog in the middle of a gale, and the crew finds that its instruments and engines have stopped working. The chart places the ship at the spot the old sailor described.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
