What happens
Mrs. Patricia Gregory, a wealthy Californian, has searched for fourteen years for her daughter Joan, who was lost as a baby when the family's ship was wrecked in the South Pacific. One night, a young man named Jerry Hall is found on the Gregory driveway by police and insists he has urgent news for her. He says he picked up a shortwave radio message about a sick sailor who spoke of a white girl living on a magic island in the South Seas. Mrs. Gregory and Captain Bradford take the story seriously and prepare to sail for the islands on her yacht, while Jerry pleads to join them.
Los Angeles, California, at midnight, at the Gregory home, followed by a drive to the harbor to sail on Mrs. Gregory's yacht toward the South Seas.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
