What happens
Carol Ainsley, a publicist, has built the bestselling novel The Whirlwind by the unseen author Anthony Street, and she is now searching for an unknown actor to play its hero in a film. Her search leads her to Professor Michael Cobb, a shy college scholar who would rather stay with his books than face the camera. Carol presses him to take the role, and her efforts draw Henry Pepper, a magazine writer hoping to profile her, into the story. The episode is a Lux Radio Theatre production broadcast on May 31, 1954, starring Roger Lussell and Robert Gunning.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
