What happens
Ben Halper, a barber, marries Nellie and they travel to Chicago, but on their wedding night he stops in the small town of Savilla, Illinois, and opens a barbershop there, promising Nellie a bigger life later. Nellie is disappointed, and the town gradually becomes Ben's whole world while Nellie grows restless. The Hollywood Radio Theater presents this 1953 adaptation of the film Wait Till the Sun Shines, Nellie, with David Wayne as Ben and Jean Peters as Nellie. The story follows Ben's years in Savilla, his family, and the tensions that build between him and his wife.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
