What happens

Andy Clark, a former partner of saloon owner Mike Stanley, returns to Chicago's Wabash Avenue in the 1890s and tries to reclaim his share of the business. He takes a job alongside Ruby Summers, a singer at Mike's cafe, and Mike's old acquaintance Harrigan becomes a source of trouble. The Lux Radio Theatre broadcast of this 1950 episode is an adaptation of the 20th Century Fox musical Wabash Avenue, with Betty Grable and Victor Mature in the leading roles. The story so far involves a reform group raid, a tense rivalry between Andy and Mike, and a growing romance between Andy and Ruby.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
