What happens

Kathy and Robert Wilson are a London couple whose marriage has grown dull through years of routine. When Robert joins the Navy in 1940, the two are separated for a long stretch of wartime. Each begins to see the other differently, and both change in unexpected ways as they meet new people. Robert's shipboard life and Kathy's time with her cousin Richard bring new feelings to the surface. This adaptation of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film Vacation from Marriage is presented on the Lux Radio Theatre, with Deborah Carr and Van Heflin starring. The original air date was May 26, 1947.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
