What happens
Alan Galloway, a wealthy inventor, brings his new wife Anne to Washington, where she struggles to fit into his polished social circle. Their marriage is shadowed when Alan reveals that his brother Michael once stole from the family business and then vanished. Anne later finds a book of poems that seems to belong to Michael, and she becomes curious about the man her husband refuses to discuss. At the family estate in Middleburg, Anne begins to uncover details about Michael and the household that Alan has kept hidden. This guide covers only the first part of the play, as heard in the broadcast, and is drawn from its opening acts.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
