What happens

Bob Regan, a young attorney, is hired as a bodyguard by businessman Andrew Colby after Colby reports being threatened by Leopold Crona, a former associate freshly released from prison. Regan is an earnest, quick-tempered man who has little experience with danger, and he begins to feel uneasy about his new job. When Crona breaks into Colby's house and the two men struggle over a gun, Regan arrives and shoots Crona. The death is ruled self-defense, but Regan's suspicions grow. Ella Raines, Edmund O'Brien and Vincent Price star in this 1947 Lux Radio Theatre broadcast of September 29, 1947, adapted from the Universal International film The Web.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
