What happens
Pip-Emma Binns, a twelve-year-old with a talent for arranging other people's affairs, enters an essay contest at Camp Happy Warrior, a summer camp for girls run by Miss Delphine Thornton. The episode is a 1940 broadcast of the Lux Radio Theatre, first aired on April 15, 1940, starring Gloria Jean as Pip-Emma, with Nan Gray, Robert Cummings, C. Aubrey Smith and Bula Bondi. Pip-Emma's grandfather, a cranky old man, and her boisterous uncles surround her at home in New York, where she writes an essay on trees she has never seen. At camp, she clashes with the privileged campers, especially Priscilla Adams, who is drawn to Dennis Lane.
New York City, a church basement and an old neighborhood, followed by Camp Happy Warrior, a summer camp for girls in the woods

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
