What happens

Dale and Maggie Williams, a couple celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary, spend a quiet evening alone in their home while their daughter Cookie listens to their story of how they first met. Their friends and relatives drop by, and the evening starts to strain as small resentments surface between them. Maggie, the wife, has a fashion-magazine job, and the pair begin to clash over their old lies and what they still feel for each other. This Lux Radio Theatre play, first broadcast on April 12, 1948, stars Ray Milland and Elizabeth Scott in a romantic comedy-drama adapted from William Wallace's stage work.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
