What happens
Anton Regazzi, a self-taught inventor who claims to cure crippled patients with his special rack, challenges the doctors of London to test his treatment. Dr. James Sturdy refuses to meet him, and Regazzi turns his attention to Lally Sturdy, the doctor's daughter, who has been crippled since childhood. Her father has given up on her, but Regazzi insists he can help. Lally must decide whether to trust this outsider, while her friend Basil stands by her. The Lux Radio Theatre presents Frederick March and Florence Eldridge in this adaptation of Dorothy Brandon's play The Outsider, broadcast on September 20, 1937, with Douglas Montgomery and Donald Crisp in the cast.
London, in a small house, a hospital reception room, and a sitting room, with the story's early scenes taking place over a few days.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
