What happens
Elsa Carling, a shy young woman, attends a noisy party at Carol Stewart's New York penthouse and feels ignored. Afterward she confides in Carol that she wants to learn acting, and she asks Carol to arrange lessons with the stage actor Gregory Matthews. Matthews refuses, but he recommends his understudy, Ronald Phillips, who agrees to teach her. The Lux Radio Theatre presents this 1936 drama starring Ginger Rogers and Warren William, with Alan Mowbray and Verree Teasdale, broadcast on October 12, 1936. As the lessons begin, Elsa's feelings toward her teacher start to change.

Listen for: Elsa's first lesson with Ronald Phillips, when she is told to walk and speak with poise
Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
