What happens
Sergeant Don Hapton, an aging cavalryman, learns that his regiment is being converted into an armored unit, replacing horses with tanks. Ordered to train newly drafted selectees, he finds his world changing faster than he can accept. His sweetheart Susie, who runs a restaurant, tries to comfort him as he wrestles with the loss of the horses he has ridden for years. The story is part of the Lux Radio Theatre series, first broadcast on January 4, 1943, and stars Wallace Beery and Marjorie Rambo.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
