What happens

Roger Burton, a Broadway producer, tells Mike and his friends about his fiancée Susan, a young woman he once met on a remote Rhode Island island. Roger recalls how he retreated there to escape aspiring actresses, and how he met Susan, a sincere country girl who loved nature and happiness. Roger, impressed by her voice, sets out to make her an actress against her wishes. Lux Radio Theatre presents this 1953 broadcast, first aired on August 24, 1953, starring Ann Baxter as Susan.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
