What happens

Chris Jones, a soldier home on a brief leave, marries his wife Joe in Los Angeles before he ships out overseas. Joe, who has been working in a war plant while she waits, later joins her friends Barbara, Helen and Doris in renting a house together, where they agree to share the expenses and household duties. Their arrangement brings tensions as the women differ in their habits, opinions and attitudes toward rationing and the war. This Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of the 1943 RKO film Tender Comrade is performed by Olivia de Havilland, June Duprez and Dennis O'Keefe, and was broadcast on January 22, 1945, as an episode of the series hosted by Cecil B. DeMille.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
