What happens

Will Slattery, a Navy hurricane flier, takes to the air in a small plane against orders after a hurricane bears down on the Florida coast. Years earlier, he had a romance with Aggie, who is now married to his former comrade, Lieutenant Hobby Hopson. The episode is from the Lux Radio Theatre series, aired on March 6, 1950, starring Marina Hara, Richard Conte, and Veronica Lake. Slattery's flight is shown alongside scenes of his unresolved feelings for Aggie, his friendship with Hobby, and his tense relationship with Dolores, who works in the office of the candy company Milne and Gregory, where Slattery now has a job. The storyline shifts between the danger of the storm and the personal entanglements that surround Slattery on the ground.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
