What happens
David Trask, a salesman with a wife and two children, leaves home in a sudden rush and boards a flight to Los Angeles. Aboard, he meets a talkative traveling salesman, a singer calling herself Binky Gay, and a doctor named Fortness. Their night of shared small talk is interrupted by a storm and an emergency landing. Trask learns a secret from Fortness that changes his purpose, and he sets out to put it right. This Lux Radio Theatre production is adapted from the 20th Century Fox film of the same story, with Gary Merrill as David Trask and Shelley Winters as Binky. The original broadcast aired on January 5, 1953.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
