What happens
In Rio de Janeiro, Alicia Huberman, the daughter of a convicted Nazi agent, is recruited by American agent Devlin to infiltrate a circle of former German operatives led by Alex Sebastian. Lux Radio Theatre presents this 1948 adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's film Notorious, starring Ingrid Bergman and Joseph Cotton. Devlin arranges for Alicia to meet Sebastian, and as the two grow close she becomes entangled in both the plot and her own feelings for Devlin. Sebastian's mother watches Alicia closely, and the agents' work becomes more dangerous. The episode, which is part of a longer story, ends with Alicia's engagement to Sebastian, tension rising around her.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
