What happens

Nick Arden, a wealthy man, has remarried after his wife Ellen was presumed lost at sea seven years earlier, and his new bride Bianca is unaware of the situation. Lux Radio Theatre presents this 1940 comedy, which premiered on December 9, 1940, starring Rosalind Russell, Lawrence Olivier and Gail Patrick. In a courtroom, Ellen is declared legally dead, and she and Nick go on their way to the wedding. Ellen returns from the island where she was shipwrecked, learns of Nick's new marriage, and travels to Yosemite to confront the couple. Bianca's reactions and Nick's efforts to explain the situation follow as the two women argue over who belongs in Nick's home.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
