What happens
Marie Sklodowska, a young Polish student in Paris, is assigned to work in the laboratory of Dr. Pierre Curie, who initially resists having a woman in his workspace. Their collaboration grows when a photographic plate is exposed by a piece of pitch blende kept in a closed drawer, prompting a shared curiosity about the mysterious rays. Marie plans to return to Poland, but Pierre proposes marriage and a life of joint scientific work in Paris, and she agrees to stay. The Lux Radio Theatre production, first broadcast on September 16, 1946, stars Greer Garson and Walter Pidgeon. As the couple settles into married life, Marie's measurements of pitch blende fail to add up, and she and Pierre work to find the cause.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
