What happens
Chester A. Riley, a riveter at Stevenson Aircraft, struggles to keep his family afloat on a modest wage while his wife Peg and their children worry about bills. When his old acquaintance Sidney Monahan arrives flaunting wealth, Riley's pride is tested. Riley's daughter Babs, meanwhile, becomes drawn to the landlady's nephew, Jeff Taylor, to her father's displeasure. Riley hosts the factory's annual picnic and tries to win favor with his boss, Mr. Stevenson. This episode is the Lux Radio Theatre's adaptation of The Life of Riley, first broadcast on May 8, 1950, starring William Bendix, Rosemary DeCamp, Richard Long and Meg Randall.
