What happens

Detective Lieutenant Mark McPherson of the homicide bureau investigates the murder of Laura Hunt, a successful advertising woman, by shotgun at her New York apartment. He begins with Waldo Lydecker, the acid-tongued columnist who was close to her, then visits her cousin Anne Treadwell and her fianc\u00e9 Shelby Carpenter. Each of them had reasons to be connected to Laura's life, and McPherson questions them about money, alibis and a missing key. Lux Radio Theatre presents this 1945 adaptation of the Fox film Laura, with Dana Andrews as McPherson, Jean Tierney as Laura, Vincent Price as Carpenter and Otto Kruger as Lydecker. The original air date was February 5, 1945.

New York City, in and around Laura Hunt's apartment, Lydecker's home and the restaurant where Laura and Carpenter dined.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
