What happens

Frank McLeod, a former army major, arrives at the Key Largo hotel run by Mr. Temple to visit the family of his dead comrade George. Instead he finds the hotel seized by Johnny Rocco, a gangster deported years earlier, who holds the guests and the Temples hostage while a hurricane gathers. Gay Dawn, a drinking companion of Rocco's, is caught between him and the others. Edward G. Robinson, Claire Trevor and Edmund O'Brien star in this Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of Maxwell Anderson's play, first broadcast on November 28, 1949.

Listen for: Johnny Rocco's boasting about his former power, and Frank McLeod's confrontation with him

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
