What happens
Peter Standish, a modern American physicist in London, is persuaded by his colleague Roger that he needs a rest, but Peter instead claims he can travel back to the 18th century. After a lightning storm, he arrives in 1784 at the Pettigrew house in Barkley Square, where his distant relatives, Lady Anne Pettigrew, her son Tom, and her daughters Kate and Helen, welcome him as the cousin they have been expecting. Peter finds the era strange and unsettling, and his knowledge of events and of the future makes the household uneasy. Tyrone Power plays Peter and Debra Paget plays Helen in this 1952 Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of the Hollywood film.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
