What happens

Louise Gingle-Busher, a young woman new to New York, works as an usher at a movie theater and eats at a shabby lunch counter run by Joe. There she meets George W. Prescott, a bearded young lawyer short of money, and later J. Conrad Nelson, a wealthy meatpacking executive who is attracted to her. Louise tries to keep up appearances while her circumstances grow tangled. This is the Lux Radio Theatre production of I'll Be Yours, broadcast on January 23, 1950, starring Anne Blythe, Robert Cummings and William Bendix.

New York City, near Times Square, and later the Savoy-Ritz Hotel

Characters: Louise Gingle-Busher, George W. Prescott, Joe Wernarski, J. Conrad Nelson, Mr. McGill

Listen for: Louise's bold scheme to crash the Savoy-Ritz party and Nelson's sudden offer of a job to Prescott

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
