What happens

Joe Pendleton, a prize fighter, is wrongly taken from the world before his time and finds himself in the afterlife with Mr. Jordan, a supervisor of arriving souls. Joe is returned to earth in the body of Bruce Farnsworth, a wealthy playboy whose death Joe has just witnessed. The Lux Radio Theatre production of the 1941 film Here Comes Mr. Jordan stars Cary Grant as Joe, Claude Raines as Mr. Jordan, Evelyn Keys as Betty and James Gleason as Max. Joe finds himself in the middle of Farnsworth's troubles, including the case of Betty's father, who has been jailed. This broadcast was first aired on January 26, 1942.

A heavenly waiting area in the clouds, then New York City, including a Farnsworth house across from the gym.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
