What happens

Douglas Proctor and his wife Jane live in a country house with their daughter Lee, Aunt Martha and servants. Their nephew Dan brings home his fragile fiancée, Evelyn Heath, a patient he met at a clinic, and the household works to make her feel welcome. Evelyn is nervous and easily upset, and her behavior grows strained as she settles in. Dan, a doctor, reassures the family that her frailty needs rest and calm. Over the first days, tensions rise between Evelyn and Dan, and within the household. This is the Lux Radio Theatre production of Guest in the House, first broadcast on 12 November 1945, starring Robert Young and Anne Baxter.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
