What happens

In a shabby cottage on the Channel Islands, a surgeon, Dr. Edmund Ozan, treats a fugitive, Timothy Haslam, who has stabbed a man. Haslam escapes by ship, and the surgeon's son William, returning to St. Pierre, takes up with the Patorel sisters, Marguerite and Marianne. Lana Turner, Van Heflin and Peter Lofford star in this Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film Green Dolphin Street, which aired on 1949-09-19. The story follows William's naval career, his romance with the sisters, and the rivalry between them as the family's fortunes shift. The first act sets up the premise and characters in the harbor town.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
