What happens

Gene Raymond and Anna Sten star in this adaptation of Graustark, produced by Cecil B. DeMille for the Lux Radio Theatre, and first broadcast on February 8, 1937. Glenn Lorry, a young New York reporter, meets a visitor from the small country of Graustark, the princess Yetive, who is touring America with her aunt. The two grow close during a week of sightseeing, and Glenn asks her to marry him. Yetive asks for time to think. When Glenn follows her to Europe, he learns that she is the ruler of Graustark. Political pressure from the palace's advisers mounts, and a marriage to a foreign prince is being arranged.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
