What happens

Alan Drake, a newly graduated naval aviation cadet, is assigned to the Hellcats squadron at North Island, San Diego, to replace the injured pilot Curly Wilson. On a foggy night he is sent in to land after losing his bearings and is ordered by Commander Bill Gary to bail out, which he does, landing in the bay. Drake, who is eager to prove himself, soon learns the squadron's expectations and clashes with his fellow pilots over his inexperience. The Lux Radio Theatre production of Flight Command, first broadcast on March 24, 1941, stars Robert Taylor, Walter Pidgeon and Ruth Hussey, adapted from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
