What happens
Steve Volosovski, a boss welder at a California shipyard, helps build the new destroyer John Paul Jones, the ship he served on in the last war. His daughter Mary works in the yard too, and she has taken a liking to Mickey Donahue, a young sailor. Steve signs on for the destroyer's first voyage, but he finds the crew green and his own methods increasingly disputed. Tensions grow between Steve, Mickey and the commanding officer, Commander Clark, as the ship prepares for sea. The guide ends with Steve facing a court martial over his conduct aboard ship. Edward G. Robinson, Dennis O'Keefe and Marguerite Chapman star in this Lux Radio Theatre broadcast of April 3, 1944.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
