What happens

Don Bellows, a rising young architect, meets Joyce Heath, a former stage star whose career collapsed amid a reputation for bringing misfortune to those around her. After a chance encounter in a dive, Don takes her to his country cottage to recover. Their relationship grows complicated as Joyce wrestles with her superstitious fears and Don with his own commitments. This is the Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of the 1938 film Dangerous, first broadcast on April 25, 1938, starring Madeleine Carroll, Donna Mitchell and Heather Angel, though the broadcast cast names as heard are approximate.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
