What happens

George Steele, an art lecturer at a New York museum, wakes on the floor of the museum after breaking in, drunk and ill, and insisting he was in a train wreck. Lieutenant Cochrane questions him while Terry Cordell, a magazine writer and Steele's sweetheart, tries to make sense of his confused story. Steele quarrels with museum director Barton over his outspoken lectures, and his apartment has been torn apart. This episode of Lux Radio Theatre, aired December 30, 1946, stars Pat O'Brien and Lynn Barrie in an adaptation of the RKO psychological mystery Crack Up.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
