What happens
Eddie Johnson arrives at Coney Island to settle an old score with Joe Rocco, owner of the Scenic Gardens Café, over a cheated poker game that cost Eddie a carnival. When Joe rejects his proposal, Eddie teams up with the struggling Frankie Finnegan to open a rival attraction, and the two men's feud escalates into a brawl that wrecks Joe's café. Eddie's plans grow more tangled as he becomes entangled with the café's singer, Kate Farley, whose independent streak complicates his efforts. The story is performed in the Lux Radio Theatre series, adapted from the 20th Century Fox musical, with Betty Grable, Victor Mature and Barry Sullivan in the leading roles.
