What happens

Bonnie Glasgow, a rough and ambitious young lumberjack, returns to a Wisconsin logging camp in 1880 and takes charge of the crew after a rowdy celebration. He is drawn to Lotta, a singer at a town saloon, and his decisions begin to pull him away from his old friend Swan. The Lux Radio Theatre production of Come and Get It, adapted from Edna Ferber's novel, was broadcast on 1937-11-15. Edward Arnold plays Barney Glasgow, with Anne Shirley, Walter Brennan, Lou Ayers and Mary Nash in supporting roles.

Characters: Barney Glasgow, Swan Vastrum, Lotta, Emmy-Louise, Mr. Hewitt, Evie, Bernie

Listen for: Barney's rise at the camp and his growing attachment to Lotta, and Swan's quiet disapproval of his choices

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
