What happens

Brad and Midge Sheridan, a childless couple, are hoping to adopt a baby. Midge learns of an infant left at a police station and visits him at a boarding home, where he is called Jimmy. Brad, a newspaper columnist, becomes involved in the search for the baby's background while Midge grows more attached to him. Their wait for a child tests both their hopes and their marriage. The Lux Radio Theatre production, first broadcast on March 2, 1953, stars Ray Milland and Phyllis Thaxter.

Listen for: Midge's growing attachment to the baby and Brad's reluctance to see him

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
