What happens

Lieutenant Jerry Mason, stranded in New Orleans on Christmas Eve after an emergency landing, meets a nightclub singer named Jackie Lamont through a friend. Jackie takes him to midnight Mass, and afterward she reveals that her real name is Abigail Manette and that her husband, Robert, was convicted of murdering a man named Harry Jordan. Her account traces the family's troubles and Robert's secret money and lies. The story is part of the Lux Radio Theatre series, adapted from W. Somerset Maugham's novel Christmas Holiday, with Loretta Young, William Holden and David Bruce in the leading roles. The original air date was September 17, 1945.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
