What happens
Abby Fane, a young Pittsburgh waitress, goes to New York to find work at the Hot Cha nightclub, where her friend Manny Walsh gives her a job in the chorus line. She draws the attention of Roderick Dean, a wealthy socialite, and Cass Worthing, a polo player, while Manny watches over her with growing concern. Ginger Rogers and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. star in this Lux Radio Theatre adaptation of S.N. Behrman's play Brief Moment, with Louis Calhern and Paul Harvey, and Nigel Bruce also appears. The story follows Abby's rise and her relationships with these men as she moves through Manhattan's nightlife.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
