What happens

In 1921 Dublin, Dennis Reardon, a young Irish rebel, is hiding after a deadly raid that killed his comrades, including the husband of Kathleen O'Brien. Lord Athley and his daughter Helen arrive from London, and the British forces are on alert. Dennis hopes for a peaceful resolution, though some of his fellow rebels plan an attack. Helen, meanwhile, meets Dennis unexpectedly and the two form a connection that tests their loyalties. This Lux Radio Theatre production, broadcast on December 27, 1937, stars Brian Aherne and Madeleine Carroll, with C. Aubrey Smith and Donald Crisp.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
