What happens

Lum and Abner's Pine Ridge store has come into possession of a real lion named Irving, bought by mistake, and the town has grown fixated on it. Cedric is set to act as the lion's trainer at a school social that evening, but Lum has other plans for the act. Lum tries to take over the trainer role from Cedric, sending the boy off on a train. Lum and Abner work through the cage arrangements and a glass partition in the feed room. A bungled door leaves Lum trapped inside the cage with the lion, and the two men must work out how to get him out.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
