What happens
Luigi Basco, a recent immigrant to America, wants to send his mother in Italy a photograph of himself. He asks around his night-school class and his friends Pasquale and Scholz for help, and each suggestion leads to a new mix-up. Pasquale offers a cheap photographer, and Luigi is pushed toward a portrait with a neighbor's daughter. A friend introduces him to an expensive studio, and he takes a bargain offer from an advertised x-ray company instead. Luigi keeps trying to get one good picture, but the errors pile up around him. The episode is part of the Life with Luigi comedy series, which starred J. Carrol Naish, and is dated July 31, 1949.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
