What happens

Luigi Vasco, a recent immigrant from Italy, is due to give a health talk to a Boy Scout troop in Chicago, but he comes down with a bad cold and fever. His friend Pascale and the neighbor Squally fuss over him, offering a string of old-country remedies and advice to see a doctor. Luigi is nervous about getting a shot, and his stubborn reluctance keeps the trouble going. The series is Life with Luigi, a comedy first broadcast on 1949-02-20, with J. Carol Nash in the title role and Alan Reid as Squally. Luigi's letters to his mother in Italy frame the story, describing his amusing first impressions of America.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
