What happens

Luigi Basko, an immigrant who dreams of Hollywood success, decides to write a movie script after reading an advertisement promising big money for simple stories. His friends Pasquale and Joe offer mixed reactions, and Pasquale's grumpy attitude toward Luigi's ambitions is a recurring source of friction. Luigi mails his story to a school, and a visitor claiming to be a Hollywood producer, Arnold Baxter, arrives to discuss it. Luigi prepares a party for the visitor and then reads his script aloud to the gathered friends. The episode is a comedy in the Life with Luigi series, first broadcast on January 9, 1951, starring J. Carol Nash as Luigi and Alan Reed as Pasquale.

A small Italian-American neighborhood in America, including Luigi's home, a school, and a restaurant where the party is held.

Listen for: Luigi's description of his screenplay and the reactions of his friends to his ambitions.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
