What happens
Luigi Basko, a newly arrived immigrant taking night school classes in Chicago, decides to write a Washington play for the school's Brotherhood Week assembly. He wants to show that people of many nationalities fought together in the Revolution and that Brotherhood Week matters. His classmates and teacher Miss Spalding help him with facts, and Mr. Hine, the school principal, is doubtful but agrees to let him cast Henry Clark, a Negro classmate, in a part. Luigi learns from Miss Spalding that humour may get his point across better than preaching. The episode is part of the Life with Luigi comedy series, starring J. Carrol Naish, and was first broadcast on February 20, 1951.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
