What happens
Luigi Basko, a newly arrived Italian immigrant in Chicago, becomes worried that the faded safety zone painted on the street outside his night school is hard to see and endangers schoolchildren. After his letter to the traffic bureau is dismissed as likely to go unread for years, he decides to repaint the zone himself. His good intentions quickly draw a crowd and a police officer, and Luigi is hauled before a judge. The episode is from the Life with Luigi radio series, originally broadcast on January 27, 1953.

Written from the episode itself; it never gives away the ending. Every recording is remastered for the stream: cleaned of rumble, hiss and mains hum (and the old TV whine where we found it), then levelled in two passes to steady broadcast loudness, so one show is never quieter than the next.
